Modern enterprises are adopting AI applications, particularly generative AI (GenAI), at a rapid rate. This adds new network security challenges to already complex enterprise workloads spanning data centers, campuses, cloud, branches, and remote user locations. Network data is being reshaped by the rapid adoption of AI products. By 2026, it is estimated that over 80% of businesses are likely to have adopted generative AI APIs or apps, yet a recent McKinsey study suggests that less than 50% are ready to manage the associated cybersecurity risks. Shadow AI usage among employees is also on the rise — with no oversight from…

My mom is the ultimate hostess. My childhood home continues to be the spot my family gathers for dinners, holidays, and celebrations—with my mom at the center of it. It only makes sense to turn the table on Mother’s Day and allow her to kick up her feet as a guest. There’s something especially lovely about Mother’s Day. It’s not just a holiday—it’s a chance to pause and celebrate the women who raised us. Whether it’s your mom, a mother figure, or a group of beloved women you admire, gathering together on Mother’s Day is a meaningful way to show…
Image: NVIDIA NVIDIA kicked off the Data Center World 2025 event this week in Washington, D.C., with a bold vision for the future of AI infrastructure. In his keynote, Wade Vinson, NVIDIA’s chief data center engineer, introduced the concept of AI-scale data centers; these massive, energy-efficient facilities would meet the soaring demand of accelerated computing. NVIDIA envisions sprawling “AI factories” powered by Blackwell GPUs and DGX SuperPODs, supported by advanced cooling and power systems by Vertiv and Schneider Electric. “There is no doubt that AI factories are a major trend in the data center world,” said Vinson. Completing phase one…
NVIDIA says new US restrictions on chip exports to China could cost the company $5.5 billion, as Washington tightens licensing rules for advanced AI hardware sales. The chipmaker said the charge is related to inventory, purchase commitments, and related reserves. “The (US government) indicated that the license requirement addresses the risk that the covered products may be used in, or diverted to, a supercomputer in China,” the chipmaker wrote in a filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. It added that the license requirement would be in place “for the indefinite future.” The US government said the license rule…
Image: Anthropic Anthropic has introduced a new Research function in its Claude artificial intelligence model, enabling the system to autonomously perform multi-step investigations. Claude can deliver a well-reasoned response with verifiable citations in just minutes, aiming to strike a “balance of speed and quality.” The AI startup says Claude responds to prompts “agentically,” independently working out what information it needs to grab next to build the correct response. It “explores different angles of your question automatically and works through open questions systematically,” Anthropic said in its press release. The Research feature is currently in early beta and can be accessed…
Security researchers and developers are raising alarms over “slopsquatting,” a new form of supply chain attack that leverages AI-generated misinformation commonly known as hallucinations. As developers increasingly rely on coding tools like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and DeepSeek, attackers are exploiting AI’s tendency to invent software packages, tricking users into downloading malicious content. What is slopsquatting? The term slopsquatting was originally coined by Seth Larson, a developer with the Python Software Foundation, and later popularized by tech security researcher Andrew Nesbitt. It refers to cases where attackers register software packages that don’t actually exist but are mistakenly suggested by AI tools;…
The nonprofit organization MITRE, which maintains the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) database, said on April 15 that the US government funding for its operations will expire without renewal; however, in a last-minute reversal announced the morning of April 16, CISA said it has extended support for the database. At the same time, CVE Board members have founded the CVE Foundation, a nonprofit not affiliated with the US federal government, to maintain the CVE program. The CVE program, which has been in place since 1999, is an essential way to report and track vulnerabilities. Many other cybersecurity resources, such as…

I used to overthink everything—what to say in meetings, how to present myself in new social settings, whether my opinions were even worth sharing. It’s why I long found comfort in etiquette: a set of rules that felt like a safe roadmap through uncertainty. But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that real confidence isn’t about following arbitrary standards—it’s about trusting myself. That’s why, when I wanted to stop second-guessing and finally feel grounded in my decisions, I turned to a confidence coach. What I learned changed everything. How to Be Confident—Tips From a Confident Coach Herself For women especially,…
